Our story
Angel started while Sami was writing his thesis. LLMs could produce answers fast, but there was no reliable way to verify the claims inside them as he read. He looked for a tool that did this well, couldn't find one, and set out to build it himself.
The first version was a consumer product. But while looking for the people who felt this problem the most, it became clear that journalists were under the most pressure to get it right, fast, and with a source they could stand behind. Angel pivoted to become a verification platform built for them: highlight a claim anywhere on the web, and Angel traces it back to the most definitive primary source behind it, with the excerpt included. When it can't find one, it says so, instead of guessing.
We're a small team based in Finland, building Angel for journalists and researchers who need to move fast without cutting corners on verification.
